Intro to Comedy & Improvisation

In this fun and dynamic workshop led by Yousef Shuwayhat, participants will explore the art of being present, building trust and saying “yes” to the unexpected!

Through interactive exercises and group play, you’ll learn how to:

Yousef Shuwayhat is a Drama Educator, Actor and Director who has been teaching Drama to children and adults for the past 20 years, including a decade-long stint as a Standup Comic. He received his BA (Hons) in Theatre from the University of Coventry in 2004 and trained at LAMDA (The London Academy of Music and Dramatic Arts) in 2005-2006. He has multiple film, television, radio and stage credits, including multiple-award winning films such as Gaza Holiday (2022), Incendies (2010), and The Stoning of Soraya M (2008).

Yousef’s work has always been deeply rooted in improvisation and comedy, focusing on building up confidence, communication skills and creative thinking. Whether in the classroom, on the stage, in front of the camera or behind the mic, improv skills have allowed him to come up with innovative performances that left an impression.
