After working for almost two decades in investment finance and tech, Jamil used his passion for acting and story-telling to pursue a career in classical theater (primarily Shakespeare) in the United States, which he expanded to include film and television in both the US and the Middle East. He is an actor combatant, trained and certified by the Society of American Fight Directors for unarmed, single sword, knife, and quarterstaff combat. Jamil has worked as Fight Captain in Macbeth and Othello at the Utah Shakespeare Festival, ensuring fights are rehearsed and performed safely to a high professional standard. At Southern Utah University, he was a Teaching Assistant for an SAFD stage combat class as well as Fight Director for the theatre department’s production of Richard III. Trained in tactical handgun techniques by a former member of the Jordan Special Police, he has completed an intensive firearms training course at the Royal Shooting Club.
Jamil has native fluency in Arabic and English as well as basic Dutch and Spanish. Born in Amman, Jordan, he has a BA in Economics and Political Science from Bates College. He is a member of the Screen Actors’ Guild (SAG-AFTRA).
