BASICS OF COMEDY IMPROVISATION


Join actor, educator and facilitator Yousef Shuwayhat for an exciting Basics of Comedy Improvisation Short Course at AIPA! Across three immersive workshops

(3 hours each), participants will explore the foundations of improv through dynamic games, guided exercises, and collaborative scene work, developing spontaneity, listening, and ensemble play! 


Designed for performers who want to unlock their creative instincts and build confidence in responding in the moment, this playful and hands-on course focuses on the art of thinking on your feet and bringing spontaneous ideas to life in a supportive, collaborative environment. 

This short course is ideal for performers with prior experience who are looking to sharpen their improvisational skills and deepen their connection to impulse, imagination, and stage presence.

Workshop 1: Saturday, March 28 | 6:00–9:00 PM


The Basics: Fun, play-based exercises to spark creativity and build confidence.


Workshop 2: Saturday, April 11 | 6:00–9:00 PM


Improv as a Tool: Challenging games and guided tasks that deepen your understanding of the creative process.


Workshop 3: Saturday, April 25 | 6:00–9:00 PM


Improv in Practice: Apply your skills to scenes and long-form rolling improvisations where stories evolve in real time.



Please note that attendance in all three workshops is mandatory.
