Ma and Ma-ai Workshop

With Nobuko Higuchi

Explore the body through weight and the Japanese concepts of ma and ma-ai — the pause that gives movement meaning, and the living distance between bodies that is never neutral, always in negotiation. In this workshop, Nobuko Higuchi guides participants through a structured investigation of physical weight as a tool for release and connection, and the choreographic potential found in everyday gesture. Through solo and partner work, participants will develop a finer sensitivity to their own body and to others in space.
